Do crystals actually work?
Crystals have become very trendy in recent years but what's all the fuss about? More importantly - how do they actually work?
Crystals have been around for thousand of years and are revered for having healing properties because of their high vibrational frequencies. Healing crystals have a long history....they have adorned the breastplates of warriors, been used as lucky talisman for soldiers at war and have been kept hidden in the pockets of princesses, sailors, and healers.
Crystals are minerals formed underground from three-dimensional repeating patterns of atoms. A crystal's appearance depends upon the natural characteristics of its type and the conditions in which it grows. This is why we get so many different shapes and colours.
The repeating chemical structure of crystals is said to invest them with a sort of 'memory'; in terms of crystal healing, this means that crystals are regarded as having the power to hold energies. They absorb energy from pressure and movement and convert it into an electronic frequency known as the piezoelectric effect. When it comes to crystals and our physical body, crystals are used to balance out the frequency of the electromagnetic currents in our body. Holding crystals or positioning them on various areas of the body can give physical and mental benefits with the idea being that crystals interact with the body’s energy field, creating balance and alignment. This is known as 'vibrational energy'. Due to their unique energetic vibrations, crystals can redirect and re-channel energy flow, helping to unblock areas of the body or energy field that have become “stuck.”. Each crystal vibrates at a different frequency, which means that each crystal has its own unique energy and this is why we use certain crystals to treat different parts of the body and different inflictions and ailments.
